Claire Mole was delighted and honoured when John Harrold agreed to draw the logo for The Mole House.
“John Harrold was born in Glasgow and studied drawing and painting at the Glasgow School of Art.
He worked on Rupert Bear for the Daily Express for well over 30 years and was its official Rupert artist, producing stories for the daily strip in the Express as well as the covers, endpapers and contents of the Rupert Annual.
John would do several signings sessions of the Annual every year, the most important being at Canterbury, the birthplace of Rupert’s inventor, Mary Tourtel. He signed for a total of 18 years at Canterbury, and people would come from as far as America to have their Rupert Annuals personally inscribed. John continues to work as an illustrator and artist”.
